Object Studies · Personal *

Object Studies is a personal project I keep coming back to. I take designer objects I admire and build a small world around each one: the room, the materials, the light and the way it all moves. The idea was to treat them less like product shots and more like quiet still lifes that happen to breathe.

Play

Lotus Vase by 101 Copenhagen

The first one is the most contemplative. I wanted the camera to linger and the cuts to stay slow, holding the Lotus vase in a warm, cozy room. Nothing abrupt happens. The movement just opens the piece up gently so your eye can settle on its texture and detail. Here I cared about mood before anything else.

Play

Uva Stoneware Vase by Aytm

The second one is all about momentum. Here the room builds and arranges itself to welcome the Uva vase, its protagonist. The animation is more playful and dynamic, with everything coming together shot by shot until the object finally lands in place.

Play

Pirout Vase by Louise Roe

The third one brings the two together. This time light leads the way, motivating every move as it shifts across the Pirout vase and the room. The scene breathes somewhere between the calm of the first and the energy of the second.

Process

A few raw viewport captures straight from Cinema 4D, showing the scenes coming together: blocking, camera and animation, just as I built them.
